While Mr. Brewman understood the intricacies of making a great batch of Premium Southern Style Sweet Tea he also understood that it is an art and not a science.  To that end, we have created this technical support page to answer any questions you might have.  If the answer to your question isn't here, please don't hesitate to email our customer support staff at ezekial@mrbrewmans.com but take the water off of the stove first.

Why should I buy Mr. Brewman’s Premium Southern Sweet Tea?
Well, besides the fact that it tastes awesome?

SAVINGS. It would take you more than $50 to get an equivalent amount of Sweet Tea from your Local BBQ spot. That’s not even for the good stuff that Mr. Brewman’s puts together, instead youre getting low grade tea and scoops of sugar from the vat in whatever quantity the waiter decided to put in that day.

We use Premium grade teas in our Premium Southern Sweet Tea therefore you actually get all of the antioxidants and health benefits you would think you’d get from drinking tea and it tastes great, everytime.

We use Pure Cane Sugar and All Natural Ingredients so you can skip on the Poly-hydrogenated stuff, the high fructose corn syrups, and preservatives which means no Sweet Tea Sour aftertaste and no styrofoam cup to throw away. Mr. Brewman’s is environmentally friendly.

We ship to you in Mr. Brewman’s Burlap Sack and it is useful even beyond your Southern Sweet Tea indulgence. It’s perfect for Grocery shopping, keeping change for poker nights, holding trash in the car, and the uses go on and on. Let us know how you use your Mr. Brewman’s Burlap Sack.

What is it that makes Mr. Brewman’s Southern Sweet Tea taste so darn good?
First, we only use top notch premium tea leaves from China and Sri Lanka and we only use those of the highest quality, no tea dust here like the big boys use to cut costs. Second, we add in just the right amount of Pure Cane Sugar as it is the only way Real Southern Sweet Tea can be made. Finally, we top it off with just the right amount of Southern Sprinklins™, just like Mr. Brewman did.

How many Southern Sweet Tea Pouches™ does Mr. Brewman recommend I use for my batch of Sweet Tea?
Mr. Brewman recommends 2 Southern Sweet Tea Pouches™ for every quart of tea but be sure to use the back of a spoon to squeeze any left over flavor from the pouches out into the pitcher. See the scale at the end or on the brewcard included in your Mr. Brewman’s Burlap Sack.

What if I'm making it like Mr. Brewman did during the Civil War?
Then you would be boiling a big pot of water, 1.5 cups of water for every quart of delicious Premium Southern Sweet Tea you want to drink, and also 2 Southern Sweet Tea Pouches™ in the pot for every quart you want to drink (3 qts would be 6 pouches).  Once the water is boiling, you should turn the temperature down on the stove and allow the tea to steep for as long as you like, the longer the stronger.  Mr. Brewman recommends 5 minutes with a stir or two (15 minutes if using a tea maker). Now take the back of a spoon and forcefully press out the pouches into the pitcher or pot.  When you're finished, pour this brew into a pitcher as not even Mr. Brewman would drink this straight from the hot pot.  Fill the new pitcher with the desired amount of COLD clean water (see scale).

I want it even sweeter!
You skipped the step where Mr. Brewman would squeeze the pouches out with the back of a spoon into the brew, didn’t you? You’ll need a spoon to take the pouches out, so just turn it around and squeeze out the pouches on the inside side of the pot. We’ll wait.

Wow, my tea tastes like skunky water?
Did you use skunky water to make it in a Iced-Tea Maker? Did you feel that? That was Mr. Brewman slapping you on the back of the hand. Mr. Brewman would always use the freshest water in making his Premium Southern Brew and he recommends you do the same because all we can control is the quality of the product when you open it up. If you have skunky tap water then you truly should make it the Mr. Brewman’s way, boiling the water on the stove first, lower the heat and throw the pouches in for about 5 minutes. You may even consider looking into water filtration such as Purwater.com.

I want to stuff the pitcher with Southern Sweet Tea Pouches™?  What is my limit?
Well, we guess you're only limited by the pitcher size BUT the tighter you pack a pitcher the less room the pouches have to breathe and steep.  You CAN overdo it, plus Sweet Tea really is only good for about 2-3 days, even in the fridge.

Which way is the best way to make Mr. Brewman’s Premium Southern Sweet Tea™?
• In a big pot in the yard over a fire with Union and Confederate soldiers nearby (be sure an adult is there to supervise).
• In a pot on the stove (be sure an adult is there to supervise).
• In an Iced Tea maker.

Can I put a garnish on it?
If you feel the need we’ve heard people will throw some lemon in it, which we guess Mr. Brewman would be okay with. We guess you could do something with some mint, but keep in mind our pouches are already filled with some great Southern Sprinklins™. If you’re over 21 (or whatever the legal age to consume adult beverages is in your county) we guess you could spike it with some Whiskey, but if you end up running through the woods howling at the moon later, don’t blame us.

Do I need to use the steeper on top of my Iced-Tea Maker?
No. Actually we would prefer you didn’t as it doesn’t give the pouches enough room to breathe. Just throw the pouches in the pitcher and brew it as usual…it looks better brewing in the pitcher anyways. You can watch it change colors, but be sure to let it brew for around 15 minutes or so (longer than if you were making it on the stove). Then commence pouch squeezing!
